Model Steam Engines
Steam works is concerned with the design and manufacturing of small scale renditions of Steam Powered engines. This involves both use of CAD software (Autodesk Inventor) and precision machining, which is done in the Mechanical Engineering Student Shop.
For those interested in Steam Works, please visit the Anderson Student Machine Shop (ME 176) and watch the in-house training video. This is required in order to use any equipment in the machine shop. If possible, it is also beneficial to have Autodesk Inventor on your computer, which is part of the free CSE downloadable software found on the IT page (see below).
It is also recommended that you get access to the Exceed lab.
If you want to learn more about the project, come to one of our project meetings, or join the team, contact John Proper (firstname.lastname@example.org).
